What began as a passionate homage to the food we grew up with; the food of home, of festivals, of Sunday lunches and roadside dhabas, has now grown into a much-loved destination for pure, soulful Punjabi vegetarian cuisine in both Mumbai and Hyderabad.

But at its core, Oye Kake isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a feeling. A celebration of everything that makes Punjabi food what it is: bold, buttery, hearty, and made with love.

Oye Kake’s story begins in Mumbai, a city that’s always hungry: hungry for innovation, culture, and good food. The idea was simple yet powerful: to recreate the authentic flavours of Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Chandigarh in a way that speaks to the Bombay palate.

The name itself says it all. “Oye Kake” is a familiar callout, a playful nudge, an affectionate greeting you’d hear in any Punjabi household or market. It sets the tone for what we do, warm hospitality, big-hearted meals, and no-nonsense comfort food that makes you smile.

While many associate Punjabi food with meat-heavy plates, Oye Kake flips the narrative with a proudly 100% vegetarian menu that never compromises on flavour or richness. From the creamy decadence of our dal makhani, slow-cooked for hours, to the fiery kick of our Amritsari chole, every dish is crafted with care, nostalgia, and full-on Punjabi spirit.

Our kulchas, hot from the tandoor and stuffed with spiced fillings, are served with tangy launji, house-made butter, and chole, paying homage to the street vendors of Amritsar. Our thalis are abundant, brimming with variety and warmth, perfect for when you want to taste it all. And of course, no meal is complete without our signature malai lassi, served in traditional kulhads.
